So me and a buddy from work went to play laser tag tonight. And if I’m really honest, it’s probably the first time in quite a while that I’ve put my body through any real strain. But dear Lord am I paying for it already. My legs hurt after round one, but when I got into my car to go home, two cramps hit me so bad that’s thought one of them broke my ankle. I just had another that I thought shattered the small bone that runs down inside the calf. Body, if you weren’t going to be putting up with it after, why did you let me do it in the first place?!

Laser tag can be great.

Just don’t check and stock bash your colleague. Makes for an awkward work day the next few weeks thereafter.

Age Sucks!

In your 20s it’s not bad. You can hop into any Jungle Gym of a car you or your friends have, play Laser Tag, Paintball, Frisbee Golf..

In your 30s things start catching up to you. You can still do what you did in your 20s but dammit it hurts for a while!

In your 40s you start hating everybody. You don’t really hate anyone but you hurt so damn much.. And now you have to tumble into any vehicle that sits too low or, god forbid, has a roll bar/cage. (The Get Off My Lawn Stage..)

But you still get Golf and Booze. No matter how bad it gets, there’s Golf and Booze.

Call me in nine years and I’ll let you know how the 50s feel.

I am right there with you. I spent 8 hours yesterday in my yard and cleaning the garage and it damn near killed me.
